These days, the shapes you bring into a room are more important than the shape of the room itself, a prominent and influential interior designer once said. The room, in the other words, merely provides the backdrop; it is what you make of it that gives its distinct personality and character.

The theme was worked round contemporary style. A white and cream combination heightens the light, airy feel of the place and complements the travertine marble flooring. The neutral color scheme affords the felling of continuity; there’s a fluid, smooth transition from one room to another. Mirror paneling contributes glamour and opens up interesting perspectives.

A suspended platform, fully carpeted, define the bar area. Concealed fluorescent tubes give a striking “floating effect”. Above, the ceiling is given a similar treatment, lending a beautiful symmetry to the area. In the living area, the Italian sofa set makes handsome statements. Called the “Overture”, its exclusive contemporary design fits into décor scheme superbly. Serving as backdrop is a half height brick wall, one end of which is left deliberately “unfinished”. The wall gives texture and weight to the setting. Plants add a softening touch.

Overlooking this little conversation area is dining room. The round, lacquered dining table is of the famous Italian Molly range. It has a smooth, flawless surface the result of pain stacking baking process. Peach chairs with brass trimming complement the table most elegantly. Lighting is ingeniously incorporated into the design of ceiling.
